The lounge is a beautiful building and has 2 floors. The ground floor has a large reception area with sofas, soft music, fresh and full-time receptionist, a room “sun” incorporating a broader range of vertical tanning unit and spray system tanning and a manicure / pedicure room.
Upstairs there are 4 treatment rooms and a bathroom, 2 of which are mainly for hair removal and 2 are for the body / face treatments. We offer a full range of beauty, holistic and complementary therapies from waxing and eyelash dyes for facials, body massage, hot stones and Reiki and offer them to the ladies and gentlemen, 6 days a week. Therapists are fully qualified and training is given outside and inside the classroom.
After working as the charge in a local salon I had my 2 children and started working again at home. I took my client base gradually over a couple of years between play groups and bedtime (sometimes having to work until 11 pm on the night to accommodate customers) and finally managed to rent a place in town where I grew up with me taking 300 clients.
Now used 4 other girls – 2 therapists and 2 receptionists and also have an acupuncturist, a healer of glass, a spray tanning and botox lady working on a self-employed basis to me.
After 8 years in Oundle, Ruth has opened another branch of beauty with Ruth, the Haycock Hotel in the idyllic ‘chocolate’ Wansford village situated in unspoilt countryside on the River Nene.
The new hall has been deliberately created in a beautiful stone building set in the picturesque courtyard. The expansion of my business in the current climate may seem a bit optimistic, but my commitment to unsurpassed quality of service to my clients, along with the highest standards of treatment, has led an excellent reputation we have earned.
